Wedding Details You Shouldn’t Forget
March 10th, 2014
You have a lot on your mind when you are planning a wedding, so it’s only natural that some small details might slip your mind.
Fortunately, this guide will help you to cover all the bases so that your big day goes off without a hitch.
Read on to discover the wedding details that you should be sure not to forget.
#1 – Undergarments
You have the dress, the veil, the shoes, and the jewelry. All set, right? Well…not quite. Don’t forget to purchase proper undergarments for your gown. You might need a special bra to fit under that backless or strapless dress.
Buy these items early so that you can try them on with your dress at a fitting to make sure that you won’t have any wardrobe malfunctions.
#2 – Custom Cocktail Napkins
You could use a plain old white cocktail napkin, but custom cocktail napkins add a fun, festive touch to the event.
Choose colors to coordinate with your theme, add your names and the date, and finish it off with a fun saying or special verse. It’s a little detail that makes a big impact.
#3 – Coordinating Robes for Hair & Makeup Time
Wedding photography isn’t usually limited to the ceremony. Most photographers take photos of the wedding party while they are getting ready for the big event, and these often are some of the most natural and lovely shots of the day.
That being said, you may want to coordinate with your bridesmaids and choose robes that are comfortable and look nice enough to be photographed.
You probably don’t want to be photographed in sweats and a button down shirt. A robe is a great choice because you can easily take it off without mussing your hair or makeup.
Choose something that is pretty enough to be photographed, but not too short or revealing.
#4 – Cake Servers
You ordered the cake, but do you have the accessories for the cake table? You may want a cake stand, cake topper, cake cutter, and cake server.
An engraved set with your wedding date makes a nice memento that you can use for years. Of course, you’ll need a cutter and server for the cake cutting ceremony.
#5 – Gifts for the Parents
Your wedding day is a big day for your parents, too.
Many brides and grooms give their parents an album of wedding photos as a gift, but it is nice to have something small that you can give them on the day of the wedding, too.
It can be as simple as a card expressing your love and appreciation. An embroidered handkerchief is a nice choice, too; they can use it to wipe their tears during the ceremony.
#6 – Hospitality Basket for Restrooms
A hospitality basket for the restrooms is quite appreciated by your guests and wedding party.
Stock it with items like hairspray, mouthwash, spray-on deodorant, aspirin, bobby pins, and ponytail holders.
When everyone’s hair is falling after dancing for hours, they can take a few minutes to straighten themselves out and get back on the dance floor.
#7 – Accessories for the Flower Girl
Don’t forget to purchase accessories for the flower girl, too. A little bracelet or necklace is a sweet touch, and it doubles as the perfect thank you gift for your flower girl.
